FAQs
Yes and no.
Each person I meet is at a different stage in their business journey.
- Some have never tried digital marketing before
- Others have just redesigned or built a new website
- Some may want to start a Google Ads campaign
- Others are starting from scratch (i.e. start-ups or new buinesses)
It's fair to so that once the setup/foundations part of digital marketing is out of the way, we can get into some regular type of pricing system.
GAP ANALYSIS - Find out where you are today, and where you want to be (goals).
PLAN - Together we can formulate a plan to fill those gaps and hit those goals. Everyone has different goals, and so every plan is different.
ACTION- Its time to put that plan into action baby!
REVIEW - Each fortnight, month or quarter, we review the plan together to ensure we're on track and hitting our targets. If we need to pivot because the world is changing around us, then we do so.
ACTION!
I've worked with many small and large businesses all over the world. I've gained experience from business owners who have made millions, to those who have lost millions. I've also helped build and rebuild peoples businesses. Success is what drives me!
I built my first ecommerce website in *information hidden*Back then, everything was hard-coded manually. Lots of late nights and coffee!
In 2006 I built my second ecommerce website. At the time it was NZ largest online perfume store. We ranked #1 on Google for perfumes in NZ. I learnt a lot during that year, especially how to sell and market businesses online. I sold the business in 2007.
In 2009 I was asked to build a website for a friend. They referred me to someone else, and so my journey began.
Since then I've designed and built over 200 websites for many businesses, and personally generated over $10M in revenue for people I've worked with.
Local Businesses. Small - large B2B companies and corporates. Start-ups. Ecommerce. You name it.
My latest work was for a local moving company. When they started with me, they were getting about *information hidden*calls per month BUT the calls were crap! Lots of tyre kickers.
I first started with learning who their ideal client was. I then built a website that resonated with that target customer, then setup Google Ads. After the first 3 months, I generated over 130 enquiries per month.
After 6-months, the business owner purchased a second moving truck and hired three more people!
- Ask to see their previous work.
- Find out about their payment terms.
- Ask how easy it is to update things yourself.
- Who will support you if they are busy/unavailable?
- Have they worked with a business like yours before, or in a situation like this before?
- How long will it take before your website will be live?
- Is hosting, backup & support available/included?
- BUDGET - We need to know this so we can make the right recommendations for you NOT so we can suck every dollar out of you! Be honest and be fair! Web design/dev is NOT easy. We've spent years articulating our skills just like you have in your business. Most Pro-designers can work with almost any resonable budget. Tell us your honest budget so we know what we're working with.
- TIME - No, we can't deliver your website tomorrow and no, it probably won't be done next week either (unless you're paying me overtime). Sure, I could probably smash it out in 3-5 days, but I will probably miss important things along the way and you won't get what you want/need. Please be realistic.
- QUALITY - If you want "cheap" and you want it "next week" then you're definitely impacting the quality of the work being delivered. With top quality, also comes more time, which requires more budget. Think about which two are most important :)
- DESIGN & DEVELOPMENT ARE SEPERATE - Just like an architect designs the house, and a carpenter builds it, so too does a web designer (architect) and web developer (builder). Don't confuse the two. They are two seperate skillsets and sometimes require two seperate people.
- BRANDING - Try to have a professional logo and brand guidelines completed. If you don't have it, I can help you get it sorted. This definitely helps make designing a website easier!
