Professional experienceTARANAKI PARTNER DANCE COMMUNITY
We are a community of volunteer dance teachers and social dancers who love partner dancing (Street Latin, Classical Latin and Ballroom, Modern Jive, West Coast Swing, Zouk, Bachata, Salsa, and Argentine Tango).
We aim to grow the Taranaki partner dancing community by providing non-profit/low-cost (free classes for blind dancers) dance classes, workshops, parties and other dance events.
We offer a variety of dance styles in each term (six to seven week blocks). Each week or block includes a three hour class.The classes are designed for social, party and club dancing. We aim to teach dancers to freestyle, to identify different beats/timing, to learn key features of each dance style, and to dance the right moves using the appropriate dance style for a particular music/timing. The classes include partner work and techniques.
