Professional experience
I’m an experienced artist, painting murals, canvas, large mural panels as well as creating digital art. My style is varied and easily adaptable to any clients’ requirements, with my intention to tell a story or message through the art pieces I create. I have worked with large commercial companies such as Auckland Transport, Better Burger, various Steakhouses, hotels and casinos, as well as working with private clients. My passion is creating unique pieces of art that will convey a story or message, incorporating personal touches of my clients’ cultures etc. I can paint anything from people, animals, landscapes and more stylized patterned work.

FAQs

It can vary, but mostly the cost work out to about $250 per sqm. There is also an upfront design fee of $600-$800 and sometimes the intricacies and details of a design can affect pricing slightly.

When I am approached for a new project, I like to get a feel for what the client had in mind, what message or feeling they would like to invoke when looking at the art piece and if they have certain design ideas or elements they want included in the art work. I chat with them telephonically and if necessary arrange a site visit. Before any design work gets a done a design fee is payable. During the design process I work with the client through a couple of rounds of changes/alterations until we agree on the final design. Payment for any materials needed is then due and I commence the painting process, which can take anything from a week to a month, depending on size, design, location etc. Upon the final day of painting, or before installation, the final balance is due.

I have over two decades worth of experience in creating art, having done art all throughout school, starting my own business by the age of 21, painting murals, special fx paint work, canvas art and more. I have presented various art classes and workshops to children and adults alike, running PD's for teachers to improve their abilities to teach art to students and using art as a tool to help build teams.

I always loved art and have been painting since the age of 11. I first started earning money from painting when I was about 19, joining a company that creating marbling, wood grain effects, aging and murals in casinos and hotels in large cities. I then proceeded to start my own business, catering to high-end private clients and restaurants, painting murals and aging/sfx.

Commercial and private individuals

I created 8 mural panels for Kenderdine Park aged care home and hospital. The murals are installed on their outdoor fence to provide something colourful and fun to look at for their residents. The project incorporated native NZ birds and plants with pasifika designs and it really brightens up the outdoor space. The project took about 5 weeks to complete.

Be clear about your budget and what it is you want the space to look and feel like. Remember that art is an investment and be open to suggestions from your artist about options to prolong the life of the artwork.

Budget, time frame, message or atmosphere they want the art to convey. If they have a definite idea of what they want, are they open to changes/suggestions from the artist to make the artpiece more unique or in line with the artists' style.
