Head chef Laura Shields has 13 years experience working on high end luxury yachts as well as running Voyage Gourmet catering for Weddings & Events in the Bay of Plenty since 2013

I started working in the yachting industry in 2007 as a private chef before working my way up to yachts of up to 90m and all inbetween on boats that would charter for $100's of thousands a week before starting Voyage Gourmet in 2013 and since then have catered events with up to 900 serves in a weekend, to small intimate weddings and larger weddings of up to 120 people. I love what I do and always strive to do it to the best of my ability.

Recently I worked a 6 month stint on a 50m luxury yacht travelling from Japan to Alaska and earlier in the year catered 2 weddings of 100 people 1 of whom was for my brother and lovely new sister in law!

Find someone who fits your needs. It should be an easy, friendly transaction with someone who will really listen to what you want and will do their best to make that reality

What's most important (ie; do I want to wow, do I want understated and casual, do I want everyone to try everything or have individual plate) whats my budget, and what's my time frame? At Voyage Gourmet we don't believe in a 1 size fits all approach, every event is different and everyone has a 'theme' of how they want their event to go.
