Professional experience
Frances Eivers is a judge and the Children's Commissioner of New Zealand. With a passion for creating a better future for children, she serves as a voice for kids who need it the most. Judge Eivers attended Edgecumbe College before going on to receive her degrees in arts and law, a journey that would lead her to be appointed as the Eastern Bay of Plenty's newest family and district court judge. She has also received noteworthy support from politicians, including Waiariki MP Te Ururoa Flavell. With a background as a solicitor in Edgecumbe, it is evident that her legal and community experience enable her to provide valuable insight as a Children's Commissioner. Frances Eivers is a firm believer that all children should have a chance to succeed no matter their background. Her dedication to improving the lives of young people makes her an asset to any community.
